Since the invention of airplane, number of crashes
took place, resulting in no survival. The development of aviation sector is
bringing new technologies day by day. new inventions are being made throughout the world for safety in transportation mode. Now an engineer Tatarenko Vladimir
Nikolaevich from Ukrain has brought a concept design to make air crash survival
possible.
In his unique design he has introduced a cabin
which is detachable. This cabin can be ejected at the time of take-off, mid-flight,
or even during the landing of plane, thus making the survival of passenger a
possibility. Once it is ejected the parachute provided with this detachable
cabin will open just like in fighter jet seat ejection system.
To make the landing of cabin safe rubber tubes
are provided which get inflate and will make landing impact free by providing
cushioning effect. These inflated tubes will also make cabin to float over
water, if landing is on water. The conceptual prototype also has storage space
for luggage beneath the cabin, therefore making it possible for passenger not
to lose their belongings even in worst condition of plane crash.
According to Ukrainian engineer, “Even though
aircraft engineers around the world are trying to make planes safer, but human
factor is still beyond their control”. A survey conducted by Nikolaevich claims that about 95% people are ready to pay more
for tickets, if the plane is equipped with detachable cabin and if it is made
a standard feature.
Despite all this still this concept of Nikolaevich is under
question like whether the cabin make it to the ground safely or will crash in
mountains or buildings. Some questions are what will happen to the pilots. This
design will also dramatically weaken the airframe as it will be in two pieces
now.
Some Questions Against The Concept
1. The cost of developing and testing of it will be huge.
2. About $100 million to $350 million per aircraft is spent by airline
annually, that’s also excluding
yearly maintenance cost.
yearly maintenance cost.
3. According to IATA (aircraft association) in 2014, which is one
the most tragic year for air flights,
out of 3.3 billion passenger, there were 646 fatalities in total, which is an amazing safety rate.

4. Nikolaevich is very positive about his concept despite all this
questions and is all set ready to do
more work on it.
